Addyston Real Estate Information

Addyston is a relatively small community situated in the Buckeye State of Ohio. Addyston has a population of approximately one thousand residents, making it comparatively sparsely populated for its surroundings. Addyston is technically considered a village of the state of Ohio, and is located along the mighty Ohio River. The Ohio River serves as a natural border for the two states of Kentucky and Ohio, in particular between the Buckeye State and the so-called Bluegrass Region of Kentucky. Addyston is situated in Hamilton County, specifically in the south-central portion of the region. Addyston encompasses a relatively small area of approximately nine tenths of a square mile, of which virtually none of it is surface water.

Addyston is currently governed by Mayor Dan Pillow in addition to the Addyston Village Council, which holds bimonthly buildings. Addyston holds a number of annual seasonal events and civic improvement projects, including Oktoberfest, a Memorial Day commemoration ceremony, and even the Addyston Clean Up. Addyston was founded by Matthew Addy in the year eighteen ninety one, a fact that accounts for the name of the community. The early economy of Addyston was based heavily on the coal mining and distribution industry as well as the construction of pipes in the village Pipe Foundry. Of course, the original inhabitants of Addyston were the same as the rest of the state and region – tribes of Native Americans, especially those known for constructing burial mounds.

The educational needs of Addyston are met by a number of public and private institutions, primarily by the Three Rivers Local School District. This encompasses the Miami Heights Elementary School, Charles T. Young Elementary School, Three Rivers Middle School, and Taylor High School. Residents of Addyston can also take advantage of the numerous private schools, universities, and colleges located ten miles away in the city of Cincinnati. Points of interest in and around the Addyston area include the Woodland Golf Course, Sayler Park, Westside Sports Park, and the Delhi Par 3 Golf Course. Since Addyston is primarily a suburban community, the urban attractions and activities of Cincinnati are only a short drive away.
